Just received our set this morning, all in one delivery of three boxes. We are already enjoying it this evening. Very sturdy, good looking and comfortable!I assembled it by myself. No problem following the instructions. About an hour of prep work, then 2 hours for sofa, 1 1/2 for the chairs and 1 hour for the table. The key is in the prep work and having a couple of ESSENTIAL tools (not the ones provided!). The seller REALLY should provide the improved tools, even if it means having to charge a few extra bucks for the furniture set. Save yourself a LOT of frustration and DO NOT attempt assembly without them. If you don’t have them, borrow or buy them.Prep work: 1: Get a couple of sawhorses and lay a sheet of plywood across them. Perform the assembly on top of the plywood. Your back will thank you for it. 2: When you open the boxes, put the contents of each box in its own separate pile. 1 pile for the sofa, 1 for the 2 chairs (both come in the same box), and one for the table. 3: Assemble 1 box at a time. Each box has its own separate little box containing the hardware.With the instructions in front of you, specifically the materials list, sort out the different types AND SIZES of hardware. Place these into a segmented container and label the segments of the different bolt lengths (35, 45, 50, etc.).Essential tools: 1: A RATCHETING SCREWDIVER combined with an Allen wrench bit. The bit must be the same type and size as the Allen wrench the seller provides. Sorry, but I don’t know the size. I just went through my bit set and found a match. ALL the Allen wrench bolts for used to assemble the entire furniture set require the same size bit, so you only need one, but it must the right one. This one tool will save you hours of assembly and knuckle-busting! 2: A 10 mm (metric) open-end or box-end wrench, preferably of a short length. A 90 degree ratchet will work here instead, but make sure to use a deep socket. ALL the nuts are10 mm. 3: A decent Phillips-head screwdriver, for just a few bolts in the table.I was pleasantly surprised to have no major bolt-hole alignment issues. The manufacturer’s use of a slot, rather than a simple round hole, really helped here. Related to this, you can go ahead and tighten the bolts after each instruction step. No need to wait until an entire furniture piece is assembled to tighten its bolts. Also, you can vary the DIRECTION of any bolt / nut placement as needed to suit yourself, so don’t worry about what the instruction diagram shows in this regard.Hope these tips help!After problem with the shipping, I received a week 5 days late. I wanted it for a long holiday weekend. I was told I would be compensated a free table, never received it.It took a couple of hours to assemble, no problems.Looks good and have many compliments from everyone thats been over. It’s comfortable and easy to keep clean.The rattan is black, if its in the sun it will get very warm.Overall I like it. Looks good on the deck and functional.Love the look!This product is easy to assemble. And the after look is stunning. The cushion is comfortable. I love the table with storage. We enjoy it a lot.This is a beautiful set, it has little feet which adds about 2” to the total height which makes it the only set that is adult size which is a huge plus! It’s fairly easy to put together, the instructions are fairly easy to follow. That said, prepare yourself for assembly. It’s not hard to do, but it’s a nightmare. The Allen wrench is a tool made by Satan himself. Forget about using a drill or a rachet set, the parts are not common sizes found in a hardware store so using them is not possible. A lot of the places the screws, nuts and washers go are in tight spots so have fun with that. The screws are labeled, but my packages had 2 labels on some and no labels on others. That led to assembly, then reassembly - there is a definite learning curve. The tips of fingers will be sore and gone after the assembly of one piece. I was short several nuts which prevented me from assembly of the 2 chairs, but I emailed the seller and based on other buyer reviews I am sure they will arrive soon. The assembly of the couch took me 5 hours by myself. The end table about 1.5 hours, but if the screws had been labeled correctly I’m guessing it would have been about 45 minutes. All in all, I’m happy with this set. It’s beautiful, it’s sturdy and it comes with all the covers, which alone saves you around $150 if you would have to buy them separately. So does assembly suck balls? Yep, it does. It’s not hard to do, just carve out a good chunk of time and prepare yourself and keep the kiddos away because I can guarantee you that there will be swearing.We are in our late 70s and we put it together ourselves! It was challenging — there was a lot of bad language, a lot of laughing,and we went through a bottle of ibuprofen, and a tube of arthritis cream but we did it. If we hadn’t found a drillbit that worked we would probably still be putting it together for another week or two.Still snowing here in March but we hope to get many many hours of enjoyment out of this set . It looks beautiful.Pros: Worth the $$, comes with covers, really comfortable and also comes with accent pillowsThis outdoor set is much taller/bigger than I anticipated from other outdoor furniture purchase reviews on Amazon. I was a little skeptical purchasing this from Amazon but really wanted to save $$. It arrived in two shipments, wasn't damaged and had all the parts needed to assemble with extras to spare.Cons: It takes two people to assemble easily (one to hold and one to put in the screws). It wasn't the easiest to assemble Lots of screws, bolts, nuts and directions that can be a little confusing if you're not used to IKEA type instructions.Although it took me a few days to put the entire set together (with lots of cussing) since the assembly was quite involved, all in all, we love our purchase. I put Scotchgard on the cushions to help with stains and outdoor use so hopefully this will last for years to come. We've had it for over a month now and it is holding up really well.Bad fortune turned into good fortune when the set manufactured in Vietnam was defective and I bought this replaset, manufactured in China. The new set is an order of magnitude better..made of stronger materials and and an all around superior product. It’ll take 2 days to assemble, but well worth it. You won’t be sorry.
